How to start a web hosting business

Hi everyone I am another noob with lots of questions.
I have a computer at home which is sitting all day doing nothing and I would like to make a dedicated server out of her to put my website and maybe host to a few people:
pc 500gb hd 2gb ram
dsl extreme (max)
-how many website could i host
-could i support small business (ecommerce)
-flash?
-any other important tips i should know

Its better to start with a Reseller and then when i have enough profit to adquire some servers for myelf, o should i go to the second step directly?
Where do you recommend me to go for a Reseller account? (i dont care price, but i do want QUALITY SERVICE)

The current recession is bad, 600,000 people a week losing their jobs in the US and growing. The numbers are ugly and getting wore.
So how is your hosting business doing?
In my case I have seen a 30% increase in signups in January with people leaving yahoo and godaddy for cheaper hosting like me. More and more people are looking to start a web business because they are out of work ad need an income.
Is anyone seeing increased sales? Is the hosting industry growing or is it just me?

Would it be a good idea to keep free and paid hosting accounts on the same server? Or should I break them off? Currently, I do not have many accounts, around 250-300. Most of them being free. Just recently I decided to switch to paid hosting. Though, I was wondering if and when I should purchase another server to seperate them. At the moment though, I do not have the money to afford another server.
