Is it ethical to use content from a site you no longer own?

I recently sold a free web host and am building a new one as a research tool for my book I am currently writing and was wondering if it would be ethical if I used content from the site of the host that I sold?
Particularly I would like to use the content from my Knowledge Base that I compiled and wrote myself before selling the site. I also wanted to re-use some of the e-mail, report, and other templates I used that I also wrote myself because I will be enforcing the same rules and restrictions and using almost the same configurations as my previous host that I sold.
I have attempted to re-write them to the best of my ability but unfortunately for most of them I worded so perfectly that to re-write them could cause some misunderstandings to the clients.
So what route do you think I should take?
